Become a Certified Level 1 Archery Instructor

The USA Archery Level 1 Instructor certification course provides graduates the necessary tools to maintain a high level of safety both on and off the archery range for camps and beginner archery programs. To successfully complete the requirements for this certification, students must successfully pass the USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Certification online course, including the online exam and register for and complete the 'in-person' USA Archery Level 1 Instructor practical course to officially receive a USA Archery Level 1 Instructor certificate of completion.

The USA Archery Level 1 Instructor will learn about range safety and setup, the steps of shooting, equipment and repair, programs and lesson plans, and is well prepared to teach beginner archery programs to people of all ages and abilities in a variety of disciplines.

Course Information

  • Course Name: USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Online Course
  • Online Course Cost: $40 (plus sales tax as applicable by state)
  • Practical Course Length: 4.5 - 8 hours (dependent on class size and skill level)
  • Practical Course Cost: Varies depending on Instruction
  • Certification Period: Three years from the date of the course completion

USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Training Course Details

All participants must complete the following before attending the practical session:

  • Step 1: Register and pay HERE for the USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Practical Course held at Camp Rock Enon

    • REGISTER ON SAC BLACKPUG
  • Step 2: Use the official USA Archery registration link provided below

    • REGISTER AT USA ARCHERY

    If you do not register through this link, we will not be able to verify your training or issue your completion certificate.

  • Step 3: Complete the USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Online Course

    • This online course is self-paced and will take approximately 3 hours to complete.

  • Step 4: Complete SafeSport Training

    • Log into your USA Archery account (https://usarchery.sport80.com/login)
    • Ensure the correct profile is opened (if you have multiple people on your account, ensure you select View on the correct membership card after logging in)
    • Select "Center for SafeSport Training" in the menu under profile (you might have to select Profile to see this dropdown menu)
    • Select Access Training
    • You will automatically be taken to the appropriate course to being training.
    • The course(s) will remain in an Invalid status until complete. You may start a course, stop, logout and come back to your account to complete at a later date. Simply select Access Training to resume the course.
    • When you have completed this course, the status and type will update within the Platform. Note: Courses can take up to 24 hours to display in the Platform.

A 30-minute Refresher Course is required on an annual basis effective the calendar year following completion of the Core Training.

  • Refresher Course: Recognizing and Reporting Misconduct
  • Refresher Course 2: Preventing Misconduct
  • Refresher Course 3
  • At the fifth year of involvement, user restarts the four-year cycle by taking Core Training Course
